What's this blog all about?

I’ve read that the Eiffel Tower is composed of 18,308 iron pieces that combine to create a 990 foot sparkling masterpiece. I’ve read that the prestigious and historic University of Oxford is truly a captivating “city of dreaming spires.” I’ve even heard that sometimes on a quiet night you can almost hear the triumphant screams of the Roman Gladiators reverberating off of the white marble columns of the Colosseum. I’ve read all of these things, but I have seen none of them. Like millions of Americans, I have never seen Europe, but that is all about to change. This fall, I will be travelling to Europe for a year in which I will be reporting for Palestra.net, a website owned by FOX News. I will be embarking as a first time voyager to Europe, and I would like you to come along with me. What would you like to see or know about Europe? Do you want to see the beauty of the Eiffel Tower? Would you like to know how Europeans view Barack Obama or John McCain? What would you like to know? Tell me, and I can bring you all of this. Would you like to be a part of my journey? Come on, relax, and travel with me across seas.

How does it work?

I intend to chronicle every step of my trip to Europe and include regular biweekly reports from Europe. I want you to play an integral role in my trip abroad. How? Please post exactly what you would like to know or see from Europe. Do you want me to take a trip to the Colosseum? Do you want see the places around Oxford's campus where Harry Potter was filmed? Do you want me to take a poll in London? You tell me, and I will do my best to report exactly what you as the viewer would like to see. I will post the links to my frequent Palestra.net reports right here on this blog.

Kayleigh,

As I read over your blog I've found that you are a smart beautiful young lady. I would love to hear about your journey in Oxford. Be safe and have a lot of fun in Europe!

I miss you already. Who's going to appreciate my history jokes? I sit in my seat, and yours is empty.

What do I want to see from your Oxford year? What don't I want to see! You know how I feel about history. But I would definitely like to see you venturing out from your room and your papers and having some fun. Enjoy yourself tons--but not so much that you don't come back :-)

Kayleigh, you will have such a wonderful adventure in Europe. I was here in college one summer and always dreamed of coming back. Three years ago while on a painting trip to Ireland I met a Dutch painter and am now in Holland as his wife. It has been the best experience of my lafe after raising 5 children of my own. We live in Oostkapelle in the Zeeland Delta. Come see us when you are on your way from Amsterdam to Gent, Belgium. We live an hour from Gent and an hour from Antwerp, both gorgeous cities. Our home is 1/2k from the North Sea beach of Oostkapelle. We are artists and have painting and sculpture studios. http://jennyshort@hotmail.com or jennyschoutenshort.com website
